Communities Fund
Are you a community-based organisation or charity that benefits people in Caithness and North Sutherland?
If so, you may be eligible for assistance from the Dounreay Communities Fund.
The fund is provided by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and is supplemented by Babcock International Group through a workforce safety dividend at Dounreay for every month the site records without a lost-time accident.
The fund is administered by DSRL in association with the Dounreay Stakeholder Group, a body set up to represent the community in site issues which will meet quarterly to consider applications.

Pentland Canoe Club is now able to offer individuals the opportunity to try another canoeing activity with the recent purchase of an open canoe. The canoe was purchased with support from Dounreay Communities Fund and the Caithness Sports Council. Members of the Canoe Club and Dounreay Communities Fund are pictured here with the canoe. In the canoe are Kim Cleminson and Eilidh Stronach, and on the bank left to right are: Ivor Muir, Marie Mackay and Isobel Stronach.
Dounreay Communities Fund has donated a 'Little Junior' training manikin to Thurso's First Aid Group of British Red Cross. The training aid will be used to train new first aid/emergency response volunteers, to maintain the skills of existing volunteers and will also be used for public training at displays. June Love, representing Dounreay Communities Fund is pictured here on the left presenting the manikin to Linda Gunn, British Red Cross.
