 A classic piece of Dounreay’s heritage from the 1950s has been given a new lease of life on the Internet.

The Dounreay Sphere – Design and Construction, was a technical film made for the UK Atomic Energy Authority. It charts the construction of the giant sphere inside which Britain’s first experimental fast breeder reactor would operate.

A 25-minute version of the film has been recovered from the site’s archive and can be viewed via the video library of www.dounreay.com.
