Heritage Project
Since the early days of construction in 1955 right through to the present, Dounreay has had a dominant impact on the economic and social development of the region. The NDA and DSRL, in partnership with Historic Scotland and heritage professionals Atkins Heritage, have worked together to establish a way forward for creating a lasting cultural legacy of the site, by means of a strategy document.
The draft heritage strategy was published on 10 December 2009 and the public was invited to comment on the content up until 8 March 2010. The final version is due to be published in late 2010.
DSRL has appointed a Heritage Officer to manage all work related to Dounreay's cultural heritage and the Officer can be contacted via the e-mail address:-

- memories that are, or can be recorded
- objects/artefacts
- interesting articles or reports, particularly on social and economic impact
- information leaflets or brochures
- magazines or newsletters
