JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Dounreay Security Manager
Department: Site Security Department, Assurance Services Unit
Reporting To: Assurance Services Unit Manager
Salary Range: £38,000 to £56,000 per annum

Main Responsibilities

  • To provide advice and guidance on and the provision of:
    • site security policies
    • strategic security issues
  • Provide a focal point of contact with the Director Civil Nuclear Security and his Principal Inspectors.
  • Provide a focal point of contact with Nuclear Decommissioning Authority Security Assessors.
  • Manage the Dounreay Site Security Department.
  • Maintain the site security and counter terrorist plans and ensure that they are both current and compliant with NISR 2003.
  • Advise the Managing Director of DSRL and his Executive on site security policies and other strategic security matters.
  • Plan and manage all site security exercises.
  • Provide overall assurance of compliance with NISR 2003 requirements.

PERSON PROFILE

Education and Qualifications

  • Detailed working knowledge of national security policies and procedures with relevant experience in their implementation.
  • A relevant security industry qualification would be highly advantageous.

Skills / Abilities

  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team focused on influencing behaviour and enabling change within a delivery focused environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentational skills, both written and oral including the ability to produce ad hoc and standard reports.
  • The ability to liaise/communicate with staff at various levels across the organisation to reach agreement on work standards, training requirements and the application of national and industry good practice.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office applications.
  • High degree of motivation and commitment.
  • The postholder must be able to accommodate a moderate amount of travel within the UK.
