Electrical Distribution Manager

Grade: Level 5

Salary Range: £32,491 - £46,237

Unit/Department: Site Services/Balance of Site Decommissioning

Reporting to: Manager of Balance of Site Decommissioning Department


JOB PURPOSE

To manage the Dounreay site’s electrical distribution system in compliance with site
policy and regulatory requirements.


ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Act as system owner of the site’s electrical distribution system including the various substations, high voltage cables, and low voltage grid to the various buildings and facilities

2. Develop electrical infrastructure projects to be performed by the Balance of Site Decommissioning projects team

3. Ensure that maintenance of the system complies with site policy and regulatory requirements

4. Direct activities of team including electrical distribution crew and engineers to achieve site deliverables.

5. Develop and implement strategy for decommissioning of the general site electrical infrastructure.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

EXPERIENCE

Extensive experience in electrical work including practical knowledge and experience of
electrical work on the Dounreay site. A good knowledge of site policy and regulatory
requirements is essential. Experience in the position of Safety Approved Person or
Authorised Person and in managing people or directing work is also required.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

An electrical engineering degree and membership of an appropriate professional
institution are desirable.

SKILLS/ABILITIES

Ability to organise and undertake several complex tasks with minimum supervision. 

BEHAVIOURAL

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally are required. Willingness to participate within on-call rota is necessary.
