Starting Salary: £9,446 in Year 1 rising to £13,840 in Year 4

This programme provides unique and challenging opportunities. The people we train today will have the opportunity to be involved in some of the most exciting technical projects in the world and to develop skills which will be increasingly needed both at Dounreay and in other areas of industry.
Your Position:
The apprenticeship is a comprehensive training programme lasting up to four years. It starts with a year of Engineering Foundation training at the North Highland College followed by up to three years of training and work experience at Dounreay and other locations, with day release for academic studies. The programme leads to an SVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance and requires you to gain a Higher National Certificate in Engineering Systems.
Start Date: August 2010
The training & qualifications you will gain are highly valued in modern industry; employment with DSRL on completion of the programme is dependent on Dounreay site requirements at the time and your performance.
Requirements:
You should:
• Have achieved (or expect to achieve) Standard Grades at credit level or equivalent in Maths, Science & Technology subjects
• Live within daily travelling distance of Dounreay
• Have an interest in Engineering
• Have attained school leaver age by Summer 2010
