IT Intranet Manager 

JOB SPECIFICATION

Grade: Level 3

Salary Range: £21,044 - £30,043

Unit / Department: Site Services Unit / IT Services

Reporting to: IT Manager

JOB PURPOSE:

Provide a publishing service for Dounreay Site using the DSRL Intranet/Extranet. Provide backup to the DSRL Achiever Application Controller.

Staff management responsibilities: None
Budget management responsibilities: None

ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. The provision of an Intranet and Extranet publishing service.

2. Control of Management System documents and tools published on the Intranet and Extranet.

3. Maintenance of existing pages and the design and development of new pages by liaising with customers to understand their requirements.

4. Promote the DSRL Intranet as a valuable business tool by raising awareness and providing training as required.

5. Providing backup to the DSRL Achiever Application Controller during any absence.

6. The provision of advice and support on the above to users.

7. Maintain an awareness of current IT tools and technologies to continuously improve the service.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

EXPERIENCE

Previous experience of working in a service area and an understanding of site projects and activities is desirable.

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

A qualification in an IT-related subject is desirable.

 

SKILLS/ABILITIES

Specific to Job

A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products is required. The ability to design user-friendly and accessible web content would be advantageous.

Must be willing to adapt to changing technologies and work priorities. An effective team member is required, who is able to prioritise and organise their workload.

 

BEHAVIOURAL STYLE

A strong service ethic is essential, together with a sound ability to communicate with people of varying IT backgrounds.

 

Candidates who do not hold all the required skills and experience could be considered in a trainee capacity
