Dounreay is owned by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, a designated public body under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
The site closure programme is managed on behalf of the NDA by Dounreay Site Restoration Ltd. DSRL is a wholly-owned subsidiary of UKAEA Ltd, part of Babcock International Group.
