Nuclear decommissioning company Dounreay Site Restoration Ltd (DSRL) has won a prestigious international safety award from one of the world’s leading health and safety organisations for the second year running.
The British Safety Council’s (BSC) International Safety Award was awarded following a rigorous assessment of the company’s health and safety policies and procedures by an independent adjudication panel.
Assurance director Alan Scullion commented: “This is the second year in a row that DSRL has received this accolade. To win, we have to demonstrate that we have in place comprehensive health and safety policies, and a clear and continuing commitment to health and safety throughout the company.
“DSRL has shown that its commitment to health and safety is from the board room to the shop floor, and that we constantly strive to improve our safety culture year on year.”
Julie Nerney, Chief Executive of the British Safety Council, said: “For more than fifty years, the BSC has led the way in promoting health, safety and environmental best practice in society. In the twenty-first century, many organisations worldwide are understandably making health, safety and environmental management their top priority.
“By achieving an International Safety Award, DSRL is helping to make our vision of a healthy and safe working environment a reality.”
