Dounreay to sound site alert

 An unscheduled test of the Dounreay Site Alert system will take place on Tuesday January 18, 2011 at 11.00 hours.

This will involve the sounding of the site alert for approximately 1 minute, followed by the SCRAM alarm.

In the event of a genuine incident, the alerts will sound for at least 10 minutes.

The alarm system is being tested as part of an overall check of electronic systems following an electrical storm on Saturday January 15.
