May 11, 2011
Land and Marine has moved its platform into position off Dounreay and resumed the search for high activity fragments in the seabed off Dounreay.
The 60m-long barge LM Contractor was towed into position at the weekend.
A remotely-operated vehicle capable of detecting and retrieving fragments buried in the sediment is now operating on the seabed.
Land and Marine has been contracted by Dounreay Site Restoration Ltd to cover a minimum of 16.5 hectares during this latest phase of the offshore clean-up.
