Transport exercise is postponed

An exercise to test the response of the emergency services to a simulated accident during the transport of radioactive material has been postponed for operational reasons.

The exercise was due to take place adjacent to Dounreay on the evening of Thursday, August 25. It will be rescheduled to a later date.

The exercise forms part of the site's commitment to RADSAFE, a UK network that provides specialist support to the emergency services in the UK in the event of a transport accident involving nuclear material.
