A highly-skilled and professional workforce, making every £ work harder to reduce the hazard faster

End of historic fuel contract story in site newspaper

February 13, 2015

The final shipment of foreign waste to Belgium features in the February/March issue of the site newspaper, Dounreay News.

The shipment completed a fuel contract made between the UK Atomic Energy Authority and SCK/CEN of Belgium in the 1990s.

2014 was another busy year for the apprentices and the centre page of the newspaper features some of their projects.

Well over a thousand young people have served their time as apprentices at Dounreay and many are now located across the world using the skills and knowledge they acquired here.

Other stories include:

  • Dounreay Materials Test Reactor control room moves to a new home
  • PIE cave sliced up for disposal
  • Dounreay and Bristol apprentices share knowledge
  • Engineer’s money saving idea rewarded by company

You can read the Dounreay News and catch up with back issues online.
